NEW YORK, NY, May 09, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Vladimir S. Boyko, Ph.D., DSc, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Boyko celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Boyko is a physicist, researcher and emeritus associate professor who taught at the New York City College of Technology for 14 years before retiring in 2016. His tenure in academia also included teaching appointments at the College of Staten Island, the Bronx Communications College and the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in the Ukraine, as well as faculty appointments as a visiting scientist at Columbia University and a lead scientist at the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Ukraine. Dr. Boyko spent a grand total of 52 years in higher education.

During his career, Dr. Boyko served on the strength and plasticity section of the Science Council of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow between 1985 and 1991. He also served on the organizing committee for the 89th Symposium of the New York state section of the American Physical Society in 2004. In order to keep abreast of developments in his field, Dr. Boyko is a longtime member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the Materials Research Society and the American Physical Society.

Writing extensively in his field, Dr. Boyko has published numerous articles and monographs for which he has received citations, including a citation from Nobel Prize Laureate Vitaly Ginzburg. His articles have been included in such publications as the Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, the Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics and Physical Review B. Dr. Boyko is currently working on a new article entitled "Twin Design of the Silicon and Germanium Nanocrystals to Influence Their Physical Properties."

One of the highlights of Dr. Boyko's career was when the methods of experimental measurement for the phenomenological parameters of dislocation theory of twins were developed. They were used to determine the forces acting on a single twinning dislocation in crystal lattice. Another proud moment was when he experimentally discovered and investigated the transition sound radiation by dislocations that intersected the surface of crystal and annihilation sound radiation during annihilation of dislocations inside material.

The recipient of several PSC-CUNY Awards from the Research Foundation of CUNY between 2002 and 2010, Dr. Boyko previously received a Sinelnikov Prize from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 1999. He also received a Prize in Radiation Damage Materials from the Science Council of the Atomic Energy Committee in the USSR in 1986. For his work, Dr. Boyko has been cited in approximately 15 editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.

Attracted to the sciences since he was in high school, as a graduate student Dr. Boyko had the great fortune to be mentored by two prominent, internationally known physicists, experimenter Professor R. I. Garber and theorist Professor A. M. Kosevich. Notably, he has held a Doctor of Philosophy from the B. Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering since 1967. Presented with a Doctor of Science in 1984, Dr. Boyko is a certified scientific worker through Higher Certifying Communications with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Russia since 1974.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Boyko has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
