Quentin Hayes Young Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    WINFIELD, IL, May 10, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Quentin Hayes Young with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Young celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Mr. Young is a retired family counselor who was employed with Balance Thru the 4 Winds of the Lakota in Winfield, IL, for many years beginning in 2000. Prior to his years in counseling, he was a longtime senior designer in research and development for R.R. Brink in Shorewood, IL, the co-owner, director and executive vice president of research and development for ADTEC in San Antonio, the co-owner, director and President of Rock-A-Bye Restraint Inc. San Antonio, and the director of research and development for Southern Steel in San Antonio. Mr. Young also worked as a Georgia correctional officer, for an aircraft company in their design department and as a metal fabricator and machine operator. He has also been a longtime advanced open water instructor with Scuba Schools International (SSI) since 1980.

Mr. Young is a mixed blood Lakota (Sioux) Sicangu (Brule) from his mother's side of the family and has been involved in the Lakota spiritual way of life for over forty-five years. He has kept a caŋnuŋpa (sacred pipe) for over 30 years. He became a Sun Dancer, and has danced consecutively for twenty-one years, four years as a dancer and then seventeen years as a Helper to the Intercessor/Chief. Between 1997 and 2004, he taught Native American studies at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Mr. Young is the author of the non-fiction book, "Mystic Visions: Black Elk's Great Vision Clarified." It was published in 2015 through Word Branch Publishing, with a second edition published in 2017 through Mystic Visions Publishing.

Mr. Young was a longstanding member of the American Counseling Association and current member of The Monroe Institute. He holds patents for several prison lock designs and hardware designs, including a child restraint (car seat). He has been included in the 56th through 60th editions of Who's Who in America, as well as the fifth edition of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and the 20th and 21st editions of Who's Who in the World.

Between 1962 and 1965, Mr. Young served in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne as a paratrooper in Ft. Campbell, KY. He soon after earned a degree in mechanical design at Central Design College in 1968. He holds certification as an advanced open water instructor through SSI.

Born in Panama City, FL, Mr. Young later married Ginger Farréll Bialas-Lucas in 2001. He has one son, one daughter and two grandchildren. In retirement, he enjoys rock climbing and scuba diving. He also has a great appreciation for art.
