WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY, May 13, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Vincent Di Fate with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Di Fate celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Di Fate is a talented freelance illustrator of 50 years who also worked in various other areas of the arts and entertainment business throughout his career. After graduating from college, he earned a position with a science fiction magazine that led to a very successful tenure in the paperback market. He also became involved in education, teaching art at the Saints John and Paul School in Larchmont, NY, and various courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where he has been on the faculty since the mid-1980s and has been a professor since 2001.

Throughout his career, Mr. Di Fate lent his expertise as a consultant for MCA, Inc., and MGM/UA Entertainment Company in Los Angeles and as a columnist for the "Science Fiction Chronicle" in Brooklyn, NY. He authored and illustrated two of his own books, "DiFate's Catalog of Science Fiction Hardware" in 1980 and "The Science Fiction Art of Vincent Di Fate" in 2001. He also authored and edited "Infinite Worlds: The Fantastic Visions of Science Fiction Art" in 1997.

Mr. Di Fate is a lifetime member and past president of the Society of Illustrators, member and former chair of permanent collections of the National Museum of American Illustration, and a member, former chair of the grievance committee and past president of the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists. He is also a longtime member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and the Graphic Artist Guild.

He is the recipient of the Distinguished Educator in the Arts Award from the Society of Illustrators and inductions into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame (2011) and the Illustrators Hall of Fame (2019), among other awards. He has been cited in the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America and the 21st edition of Who's Who in the East.

Originally intrigued by science fiction film as a child, by the time Mr. Di Fate had entered high school he had discovered a great artistic ability. Earning a full scholarship to attend art school, he later received a Master of Arts in illustration from Syracuse University in 2003. He has been certified in illustration since 1967.

Born in Yonkers, NY, Mr. Di Fate was married to his late wife Roseanne for many years. She recently passed away five years ago in 2014. He since remarried his second wife Joanne, who has given him a renewed sense of excitement about life. Lucky to have had two wonderful women in his corner, his mother Carmina also served as a great inspiration for him. He credits all three of these beautiful women for his ability to create great artwork and be so successful in his career.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Vincent Di Fate has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
