With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he moderated the presentation "The Shield and the Sword and Royal Towers: Protecting Yourself and Your Client in the Practice of Family Law," in addition to working as group workshop leader for the Advanced Family Law Trial Advocacy Workshop through the family law section of the Florida State Bar.
Mr. Garfinkel holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Samford University Cumberland School of Law. To remain abreast of changes in law, he maintains his affiliation with the Atlanta and Alabama Bar Associations, the Florida Family Law and Practice, and the National Association of Parental Alienation Specialists. He has contributed to his community in a legal capacity as past chairman of the family law section of the Jacksonville Bar Association, and past chair of the marital and family law board certification committee of the Florida Bar Association. Mr. Garfinkel has served on the Executive Board of the Florida Bar Family Law Section and has served as co-chair of the Equitable Distribution Committee.
In light of his outstanding accomplishments, Mr. Garfinkel has earned many awards over the years, including being named a Georgia Super Lawyer through Atlanta Magazine and a Top 100 Lawyer in Georgia through Super Lawyers. He also garnered a Legal Elite Award through Florida Trend Magazine and the Hernandez Professionalism Award for Family Lawyer of the Year through the Florida Family Law American Inns of Court.
