Charles A. Platt Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    NEW YORK, NY, May 20, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Charles A. Platt II with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Platt celebrates many years' experience in his profession and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Platt pursued an education at Harvard University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1954 and a Master in Architecture in 1960. During this time, he served in the 9th Counterintelligence Corps from 1954 to 1956. Subsequently, Mr. Platt began his career as a general partner for with Smotrich & Platt Architects in New York City from 1965 to 1985, serving for a year as Visiting Critic at Cornell University and further progressing to the position of Founding partner with Charles A. Platt Partners in New York, NY City between 1985 and 1989.

From 1985 to 1986, Mr. Platt worked briefly as an Asociate Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture and Planning. He later excelled as a partner with Platt Byard Dovell White Architects, a position he has held since 1989. With a National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Certificate and advanced to Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Platt has additionally served on the boards of the Municipal Art Society of New York, the Gracie Mansion Conservancy, the New 42nd Street Inc., the Public Health Research Institute and the Saint-Gaudens Memorial at the National Historic Site in New Hampshire.

A successful artist, Mr. Platt's artwork has been displayed in painting exhibitions at the Freight + Volume Gallery in New York, NY, the Garrison, NY, Art Center, and the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site. A testament to his career, he has been presented with Lucy Moses Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy for Leadership in Preservation. With a career filled with highlights, Mr. Platt proudly recalls his work being notably exhibited at the Osaka World's Fair in 1970, published in numerous books as well as numerous magazines and given several significant awards.
