    DECATUR, GA, May 28, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present James R. Vaseff, AIA with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Vaseff celebrates many years of experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. With nearly 50 years of professional experience, Mr. Vaseff was the vice chair and a member of the board at the Coperniche Wealth Institute from 2010 to 2015. Prior to obtaining this role, he was the senior adviser of community and economic development and the manager of external issues and governmental affairs at Georgia Power from 1982 to 2008. From 1980 to 1982, he was the Chief of Preservation Services for the southeast region of the National Park Service, and from 1978 to 1980 he was the active chief of the Historic American Engineering Record with the United States Department of the Interior. Earlier in his career, Mr. Vaseff was an instructor of architecture at the University of North Carolina Charlotte from 1974 to 1977, having been an architect since 1967 in Boston and London, U.K.

Mr. Vaseff began his career as a student at Clemson University in South Carolina, where he completed coursework from 1964 to 1967. Continuing his studies with the Boston Architectural College, he earned a Bachelor of Architecture in 1971. A registered architect in the states of Massachusetts and North Carolina since 1973 and 1975, respectively, Mr. Vaseff completed postgraduate coursework at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, through a Loeb fellowship for advanced environmental studies, from 1983 to 1984.

A respected voice in his areas of expertise, Mr. Vaseff has been an active leader in his community as well. The former chair of the national, Regional and Urban Design Committee of the American Institute of Architects from 1990 to 1991, he went on to serve on the board of directors of the Atlanta chapter of the AIA from 1992 to 1995 and as the treasurer from 1993 to 1995. Additionally, he has been active on the boards of the Waldorf School of Atlanta, the Atlanta Young Singers, the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and the Georgia Humanities Council. Mr. Vaseff is also a past president of the Harvard Club of Georgia and President of the Georgia Council for International Voters.

Throughout his career, Mr. Vaseff has been recognized for his contributions. Notably, he was presented with the Howard Chase Leadership Award from the Issue Management Council as Chairman. In light of all his accomplishments, Mr. Vaseff has previously been featured in numerous honors publications, including the 22nd and 23rd editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
