Frederick Foster Morrison Posthumously Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Mr. Morrison celebrated many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, in 1961, Mr. Morrison attended Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, from 1964 and 1965. During this time, he began his career as a mathematician for the Army Map Service in Washington, D.C., between 1961 and 1964. Soon thereafter, he worked as a mathematician with the National Ocean Service in Rockville, Maryland, from 1965 to 1985, before accepting the position of president with Turtle Hollow Associates, Inc. in Gaithersburg between 1986 and 2015. In addition to his primary responsibilities, Mr. Morrison contributed as a visiting scholar for Stanford University in California from 1977 and 1978 and as a teacher for the USDA Graduate School in Washington, D.C., from 1994 and 1997.

An expert in the field, Mr. Morrison served as an editor of "Reviews of Geophysics and Space Physics," and "Geodesy, Mapping & Photogrammetry," as well as the author of "The Art of Modeling Dynamic Systems." In a career filled with achievements, Mr. Morrison was responsible for developing singularity-matching algorithms, a hierarchy of dynamic systems, and a continuous numerical continuation high precision solution algorithm for ODEs. A testament to his success, Mr. Morrison has been the recipient of the Book of the Year Award from the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Systems Research in Baden-Baden, Germany.

In an effort to remain up to date with developments in the field, Mr. Morrison maintained affiliation with the American Geophysical Union, the Institute of Business Forecasting and Sigma Xi. He considers the absolute highlight of his career to be receiving the Book of the Year Award from the International Institute for Advanced Studies in 1992. Outside of his career, Mr. Morrison enjoyed photography, hiking, wine and gourmet food, as well as being a rail and transit enthusiast.
