NEWTON, MA, May 30, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jack E. Meyer, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Meyer celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With a career spanning over 50 years, Dr. Meyer currently holds an appointment on the admissions committee of Harvard Medical School in Boston. Throughout his career, he also served in various executive roles at medical institutions, spending the majority of his career at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. In addition, he also held several professorships over the years. Most notably, Dr. Meyer was a professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School for more than 20 years and currently holds the title of emeritus professor of radiology.

After residency Dr. Meyer served on the Radiology faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for several years. He was then appointed Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. By accepting this position he was challenged to resurrect the Radiology Residency Training Program which had numerous staff vacancies and had lost ACGME accreditation. Over the next 12 months, under Dr. Meyer's guidance, the residency received conditional approval and several new staff members were recruited. Subsequently the residency program was unconditionally certified and the important clinical and teaching mission reestablished. At this point Dr. Meyer was recruited as Vice Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston where he spent the remainder of his career.

As a respected voice in his field, Dr. Meyer has also extended his expertise as a consultant to editorial boards and as a contributor of more than 120 peer-reviewed articles published in professional journals. He also co-authored "Interventional Radiology" and authored the sixth edition of "Cancer: A Manual for Practitioners" and the second edition of "Lymphatic Imaging."

As a testament to his professional prowess, Dr. Meyer has received much recognition for his contributions to the field. He has received an Outstanding Administrator Award from the University of Louisville, a Leadership Award from the Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Radiology, and the Brigham and Women's Hospital Diagnostic Radiology George Marina Teaching Award. In order to stay abreast of advancements in radiology, Dr. Meyer maintains affiliation with the Society of Breast Imaging, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and the Massachusetts Medical Society.

Greatly impacted by his father's battle with cancer, Dr. Meyer decided to pursue medicine as a way to help others. Earning a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College in Iowa, he went on to obtain a Doctor of Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, and an honorary Master of Science from Harvard University. Dr. Meyer is certified through the American Board of Radiology and is a licensed physician in the state of Massachusetts.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Jack E. Meyer has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
