As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With a career spanning over 50 years, Dr. Meyer currently holds an appointment on the admissions committee of Harvard Medical School in Boston. Throughout his career, he also served in various executive roles at medical institutions, spending the majority of his career at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. At this point Dr. Meyer was recruited as Vice Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston where he spent the remainder of his career.
As a respected voice in his field, Dr. Meyer has also extended his expertise as a consultant to editorial boards and as a contributor of more than 120 peer-reviewed articles published in professional journals. Greatly impacted by his father's battle with cancer, Dr. Meyer decided to pursue medicine as a way to help others. Earning a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College in Iowa, he went on to obtain a Doctor of Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, and an honorary Master of Science from Harvard University.
