Dr. Alfredo A. Bonadeo had excelled as a professor of Italian literature with the University of California system for his entire career.

With more than 25 years of professional experience to his credit, Dr. Bonadeo had excelled as a professor of Italian literature with the University of California system for his entire career. Beginning his career as an instructor at the University of California, Los Angeles, from 1964 to 1965, he subsequently served as an assistant professor at the University of California, Davis, from 1965 to 1969. First contributing to the University of California, Santa Barbara, as an assistant professor in 1969, he later held the posts of an associate professor and a professor by 1978. Dr. Bonadeo remained active as an educator with the University of California, Santa Barbara, until his retirement in 1992.

An accomplished writer in his field, Dr. Bonadeo had authored a number of books over the years as well. Publishing "Corruption, Power and Conflict in the Works and Times of Niccolo Machiavelli" in 1973, he went on to pen "Italy and Italians in English Romantic Literature" in 1984 and "Mark of the Beast: Death and Degradation in the Literature of the Great War" in 1989. Dr. Bonadeo's latest written works include "D'Annunzio and the Great War," "Mussolini and the Politics of Sacrifice," "Martial Valor from Beowulf to Vietnam," and a manuscript left after his death in 2011—"No Lessons Learned: the fighting and dying in Vietnam, a legacy replayed in the Middle East," which his wife, Barbara, has completed.

Prior to embarking on his professional path, Dr. Bonadeo pursued an education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1955 and a Master of Business Administration in 1957. Briefly working for the Bank of America in San Francisco, he concluded his studies at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in Italian in 1965. Having accomplished much over the course of his career, Dr. Bonadeo was the recipient of several honors and accolades, including a notable feature in the 46th edition of Who's Who in America.
