Mr. Ziegler retired many years ago in 1980 after a near 40-year long career. A senior consultant analyst for San Diego Cash Register Company and NCR Company in his later years, he also served in directorship roles for the Coast Federal Savings and Loan Association and the Southern Federal Savings and Loan Association and was the president for Turn-Key Computer Applications. Early on, Mr. Ziegler was active in education, teaching mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Pennsylvania State University.
Active as a consultant for many years, Mr. Zeigler worked on computers for the Yemen Arab Republic National Water and Sewerage Authority. He was also a technical consultant for the Office of Naval Research Study and a consultant for psychological research projects for the University of Southern California and the University of Utah.
During his career, Mr. Ziegler was involved with a research project with a group called Teachers Characteristics Studies as part of the American Council on Education. Suggesting the use of a new computer at the University of California, Los Angeles, for them to use, as opposed to completing tasks by hand, Mr. Ziegler was responsible for the increase of from several hundred to several thousand teacher participants as a result.
In 1967, Mr. Ziegler authored "Time Sharing Data Processing Systems." He has since contributed articles in various scholarly journals in his area of expertise. A member of Masons, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Tau and Eta Kappa Nu, Mr. Ziegler has been included in more than a dozen editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World. He notably received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1943 and a Master of Arts in mathematics in 1948 from Pennsylvania State University. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1944 to 1946.
Born in Warren, PA, Mr. Ziegler later married his late wife Maxine Evelyn Hogue in 1952. They were married for 16 wonderful years. He has four children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
