Dr. Charles Blanchard Millham is a former mathematics educator who served Washington State University at Pullman for 35 years.

Drawing upon nearly 40 years of practiced experience in academia, Dr. Millham is a former mathematics educator who served Washington State University at Pullman for 35 years. Beginning his tenure at the university as an assistant professor of mathematics in 1966, a role he held until 1969, he subsequently ascended the ranks to associate professor and full professor by 1974, acting in the latter role until his retirement in 2001. During his time at Washington State, he was also the chairman of environmental science and regional planning for two years, as well as a professional consultant, for many years. He commenced his career in 1962 as an instructor of mathematics at Iowa State University, where he also served as an assistant professor for two years.

While at Washington State, Dr. Millham also served two terms as acting chairman of computer science and sat on numerous campus-wide and departmental committees. Under his tutelage, 50 MS students and four PhD students graduated with their theses and dissertations. Dr. Millham has contributed a myriad of articles to professional journals and chapters to books throughout his career. To remain current of industry developments, he was a member of the Association of Research Professors of Washington, for which he was a founding member and past president, the Association for Computing Machinery, and a past member of the American Economic Association, the Operations Research Society, past and charter member of the Mathematical Programming Society, and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.

To prepare for his career, Dr. Millham pursued formal education at Carleton College, where he completed undergraduate coursework from 1954 to 1956. He then transferred to Iowa State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in foreign trade, a Master of Science in mathematics, and a PhD in economics in 1958, 1961, and 1962, respectively.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Millham has garnered several accolades and honors. The recipient of a Citation Award from the Royal Science Society of Jordan and a Fulbright Grant from the University of Jordan in Amman, he is the namesake of the Charles Chuck Millham Endowed Scholarship in Mathematics, which is offered through the department of mathematics at Washington State. Dr. Millham is exceptionally proud that two of his former students have endowed the scholarship.

A native of Kansas, Dr. Millham has been married to Bonnie May Miller for thirty-two years and has one child and three step-children. He also has four grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys studying military history, camping, repairing antiques, and writing. He is currently writing a book titled "A River Boyhood."
