Jung-Lim Lee Celebrates Professional Excellence in Food Science and Microbiology

An expert in his field, Dr. Lee initially pursued an education at Hankyong National University, earning a Bachelor of Science in food science and technology. He continued his studies with a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in food science and biotechnology at Kyung Hee University. Dr. Lee concluded his academic efforts with a postdoctoral fellowship in food science at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Lee is affiliated with the International Association for Food Protection. Although his career is still on the rise, he is especially proud of accepting the Faculty Excellence Award for Research from Delaware State University, which he was presented with in 2014. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he as a corresponding author has published numerous articles such as "Purification and characterization of the thermostable protease producer by Serratia grimesii isolated from channel catfish," "Development of a two-step, non-probed multiplex real-time PCR for surveilling Vibrio anguillarum in seawater" and "The study and identification of bacterial spoilage species isolated from catfish during refrigerated storage." Looking toward the future, Dr. Lee intends to experience the continued growth and success of his academic career and his research.
