In order to keep abreast of changes in the field, he has affiliated himself with the Illuminating Engineering Society, the Association of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers, the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and the International Electrical Testing Association over the years. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he has authored the New York State Annual Energy Outlook for the New York State Society of Professional Engineers, as well as numerous articles in professional journals. For his professional excellence, Mr. Irvine earned the Man of the Year Award from the International Electrical Testing Association, the Outstanding Service Award from the Illuminating Engineering Society and features in Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
