Following the completion of 45 years of professional excellence, Dr. Jeffrey G. Reed retired from his role as professor of management and dean of the School of Business at Marian University.

Following the completion of 45 years of professional excellence, Dr. Reed retired from his role as professor of management and dean of the School of Business at Marian University, where he taught courses in management, leadership and human resources. Early in his career, he served at Bucknell University as a reference librarian, as a research assistant at Towson State University and Kansas State University and as a psychology faculty member at State University of New York at Geneseo. Dr. Reed served as a business consultant in upstate New York and gained valuable expertise in software development, project management and product development at Xerox Corporation, prior to his tenure at Marian University in Michigan.
In a career filled with highlights, he cites receipt of the Underkofler Award for Teaching, serving as District Governor for Rotary International, receipt of software patents, certification as a project management professional, participation on multiple product programs at Xerox Corporation, and launch of the Xerox DocuTech Production Publisher as extremely rewarding.
Dr. Reed holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Muskingum College, a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland, a Master of Arts in psychology from Towson State University, and a PhD in psychology from Kansas State University. Further, he achieved certificates in program evaluation and business from University of Massachusetts and New York University, respectively. He maintains affiliation with the American Psychological Association.
Civically, Dr. Reed has been involved with The Arc Fond du Lac, Cobblestone School, Webster Montessori School, Wisconsin State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, IGNITE Business Success, Central Midwest District of the UUA, International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, and Rotary International. He has served in many roles, including President of Fond du Lac Morning Rotary, President of Fond du Lac Area Human Resources Association, Governor of Rotary International District 6270, Executive Committee Member of the Rotary Midwest President Elect Training Seminar Council and staff member at the UUA Midwest Leadership School.
Utilizing his knowledge of several fields, Dr. Reed co-authored a number of works, including "Using Reference Databases," "Preparing Undergraduate Students for Careers in Business," three editions (1983, 1992, 2003) of "Library Use: Handbook for Psychology," and "Development and Validation of a Set of University Involvement Scales." He also authored "Dropping a College Course" and various articles that appeared in professional journals.
Dr. Reed has been recognized for achievement, having received the Alliant Energy James R. Underkofler Award for Teaching Excellence, Xerox Patent Award, Xerox Special Merit Award, NIMH Evaluation Research Institute Fellowship, and ALA Students to Dallas Award. He has been featured in both Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Education.
