Norma Jean Behrens Huetson Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Norma Jean Behrens Huetson excelled as an elementary teacher for more than 40 years.

Supported by a firm educational background and a bevy of professional experience, Ms. Huetson excelled as an elementary teacher for more than 40 years before retiring in 1996. She began her career with Gage County Schools in Adams, Nebraska, remaining there from 1950 to 1953. She then progressed to Lancaster County Rural Schools in both Adams and Crete, Nebraska, between 1953 and 1962. Later, she worked briefly for Saline County Rural Schools in Crete from 1962 to 1964, before accepting a position with Lincoln Public Schools in 1973. Ms. Huetson would remain with Lincoln Public Schools for the next 23 years.

Ms. Huetson was awarded a scholarship to Nebraska State Teachers College in 1950. She also attended the University of Nebraska, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 1973. She is a member of the National Education Association, the Nebraska State Education Association, and the Lincoln Education Association. In recognition of her professional efforts, Ms. Huetson was selected for inclusion in editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who of American Women.

Ms. Huetson has been married to her husband, Russel Wayne Huetson, since 1953. The couple share a son, Curtis, and a daughter, Angela Joy. Despite her retirement, Ms. Huetson remains active and enjoys sewing and reading in her spare time.
