Dr. A. Robert Bauer has been recognized as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

After accruing decades of professional excellence, Dr. Bauer retired from his private surgical practice in Salt Lake City. At the beginning of his career, he served in the Medical Corps for the United States Army before he accepting positions with the University of Utah as a clinical instructor of surgery and a researcher in surgical immunology. Over the years, he has found much success in educational and medical roles with the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the Ohio State University, the Central Michigan Community Hospital, the Michigan State Medical School and the Saint Mark's Hospital. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of conducting a study on lymphocytes working against pancreatic cancer. Dr. Bauer was one of the first medical professionals to understand that the immune system recognized a cancer cell sooner than anything else in the body and programs the body against it.
Dr. Bauer initially pursued an education at the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1949, a Master of Science in 1950 and a Doctor of Medicine in 1954. He concluded his studies with a Master's degree in medical science and surgery from the Ohio State University in 1960. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the Southwestern Surgical Congress, the Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Medical Association, the Utah Medical Association and the Salt Lake Surgical Society. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Bauer has contributed to various articles for professional publications such as "Research: Molecular Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer from the Peripheral Blood."
Notably, Dr. Bauer has been recognized as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. For his excellence, he has been celebrated with the Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award and multiple features in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
