An accomplished listee, Ms. Carey celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Carey retired in 2011 after 28 years as an audiovisual producer and book production consultant for Twenty-Third Publications in Mystic, Connecticut, which later relocated to New London, CT, under new ownership as Bayard, Inc.

She was the executive producer for Stations of the Cross for Children in 1996 and "Bob, The Wandering Lamb" in 1994, which both won Telly Awards, Birdseed Blunder in 1993, which won an International Film Festival Award for Creative Excellence. Over the course of her near 30-year career in the industry, Ms. Carey would often hire outside freelancers to shoot videos, do editing work, cast actors for videos and hire artists when artwork was needed. She also became very versatile in the industry due to constant advances in technology, which included learning how to transition from filmstrips to video, VHS and DVD.

Maintaining a strong presence in her community, Ms. Carey was a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of America in Westerly, Rhode Island, is active with an organization called Horses Healing Humans in Stonington, Connecticut, and often volunteered for disaster services with the American Red Cross in New London County. She also can be frequently found volunteering at the local Westerly, RI, library at their audiovisual aisles, and at the affiliated historic Wilcox Park helping organize the office-end of park events. An alumna of Plymouth State University, NH, Ms. Carey received a Bachelor of Education in business education in 1967. She since earned a Master of Education from Boston University in audiovisual education in 1969. She was a certified teacher in the state of New Hampshire and a member of the International Television Association.
