Charles Welling has volunteered throughout his local community, contributing to the Kentucky Food Bank as well as the jail ministry as a lay preacher.

LEITCHFIELD, KY, June 26, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles Welling has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After excelling as a tailor for more than 35 years, Mr. Welling retired from his work with Riders Men's & Women's Clothing in Elizabethtown, KY in 2011. When he began his career in the early 1970s, he owned a tailor shop with Men's World. Following this opportunity, Mr. Welling found success as the owner of his eponymous business, Welling Fine Tailoring, from 1981 until 1991.

Over the years, Mr. Welling remained active in his field through his work with Watson's Department Store and had the privilege of serving as a ministry worker. During his spare time, he has volunteered throughout his local community, contributing to the Kentucky Food Bank as well as the jail ministry as a lay preacher. He also headed AA meetings at a men's prison every Monday night for 15 years, counseling them individually as needed, and hosted a live evening prayer broadcast two nights a week on WJCR. Mr. Welling has donated to many notable organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of America, PETA, ASPCA, The Salvation Army and various veterans' clubs, for which he was recognized as the Donor of the Year.

Although his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Welling is especially proud of serving as the official tailor for the Canadian pavilion at the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, TN. Moreover, he was invited by the Commissioner General of Canada to be the country's special guest for the opening ceremony. Looking toward the future, Mr. Welling intends to continue enjoying his retirement.
