Supported by nearly 45 years of professional experience and an educational background, Dr. Dutcher has excelled as the co-founder and associate director of the Cancer Research Foundation and a professor of medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, since 1998. Prior to these appointments, she served as the director of the Immunotherapy Program within the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Mount Sinai St. Luke's in New York City. Throughout her career, she worked as a site director in oncology with the Montefiore North Division, associate director for clinical affairs in the Comprehensive Cancer Center and director of oncology at the Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center between 1998 and 2010. Earlier in her career, she also contributed as a professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University, as well as an associate of the National Cancer Institute.

Prior to the inception of her career, Dr. Dutcher pursued formal education at the University of Utah and earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in 1971. Soon thereafter, she secured a Doctor of Medicine from the University of California Davis in 1975. A diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, she is also certified by the American Board of Medical Oncology and licensed in the states of New York and Maryland.

With a number of career-related endeavors to her credit, Dr. Dutcher has most notably sat as co-chair for the Renal Cancer Task Force with the National Cancer Institute since 2015. She has additionally been associated with the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Foundation as an advisory board member since 2010, and a member of the ECOG-ACRIN Public Committee, among other professional organizations. An expert in the field, she has contributed as a section editor for the publications, "Current Treatment Options in Oncology," "Leukemia," "Chronic Leukemia" and "Neoplastic Diseases of the Blood." Dr. Dutcher has also written informative articles regarding oncology that were published in several professional journals such as the Journal of Immunotherapy, the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the Journal of Clinical Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Dutcher is a former commissioned officer of the United States Public Health Service, having served between 1978 and 1982. She has remained as an inactive reserve since 1982. In light of her extraordinary accomplishments, Dr. Dutcher was named Outstanding Young Investigator by the ECOG, and received the Henry L. Moses Clinical Research Award from the Montefiore Medical Center and the Beecham Award in Hematology from the Southern Blood Club. She also was presented with the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of California Davis. Further, Dr. Dutcher has been presented with numerous grants from other organizations and institutions. Likewise, she was featured in myriad editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
