Michael Braude Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    SHAWNEE MISSION, KS, June 28, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Michael Braude with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Braude celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Now celebrating a career that spans more than three decades, Mr. Braude initially earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri in 1957. He went on to earn a Master of Science from Columbia University in 1958 and an honorary doctorate from Baker University in 2004. Mr. Braude started out in the banking industry, working as vice president of Commerce Bank in Kansas City, Missouri, from 1962 to 1966 and Mercantile Bank in Kansas City from 1966 to 1973. He also served as executive vice president of American Bank in Kansas City from 1973 to 1984. Confident in his professional shift, he served as president and chief executive officer of the Kansas City Board of Trade from 1984 until his retirement in 2001.

In addition to his primary professional accomplishments, Mr. Braude served on the board of directors for the Midwest Trust Company, also serving on the board of the Kansas City Life Insurance Co. in Kansas City and Hodgdon Corp. in Shawnee Mission, among other companies. He has also demonstrated enthusiasm for civic outreach, having worked as president of the Metropolitan Community College Foundation and mayor of the City of Mission Woods, Kansas. In addition to 12 published children's books, Mr. Braude wrote "Managing Your Money," which was published in 1975.

In light of his professional acclaim, Mr. Braude was the recipient of the University of Missouri Faculty Alumni Award in 2000. After his retirement, he continued as the trustee for the Kansas Public Employee Retirement System, serving in this capacity from 2001 to 2011. He also wrote a column every week for the Kansas Business Journal for 11 years, demonstrating considerable knowledgeability in his industry. Mr. Braude is a member of the University of Missouri Alumni Association, having served on their board of directors from 1985 to 1987.
