Adele Green, PhD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

For many years, Dr. Adele Green excelled first as an educator, and then as a psychologist conducting neuropsychological evaluations.

An accomplished listee, Dr. Green celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. For many years, Dr. Green excelled first as an educator, and then as a psychologist conducting neuropsychological evaluations. She had earned her Bachelors of Science in Education degree in 1960, a Master's of Arts degree from Hunter College in 1963 and the began a career as an instructor of English as a Second Language (ESL) at the International Institute of Youngstown, Ohio. During that lime she served as a lecturer and presented papers on ESL at conferences, developed ESL curricula and programs (ESL course in pronunciation for foreign medical graduates and English as a second dialect) and coauthored 2 books, one entitled Becoming Fluent in English (Kendall/Hunt Publishing 1974) and the other entitled: Situational Exercises in Cross Cultural Communication (Charles E. Merrill 1977). She then earned a Doctor in Philosophy from Kent State University in 1985. In January of 1985 she progressed to the post of an instructor of Psychology at Youngstown State University and remained there until the end of the spring of 1991. While there she was first author of several professional articles on language processing in different populations with all but two article published in peer review journals. During that time, she still served as a consultant instructor for Youngstown International Institute. She was also briefly a consultant for reviewing book and test materials for a book publisher (William C. Brown).

Between 1986 and 1994, Dr. Green coauthored one chapter "Is time-sharing asymmetry a valid indicator of speech lateralization" in the book entitled Advances in Psychology: Cerebral control of speech and limb movement, Pp.611-633, Academic Press: Elsevier, and also coauthored one chapter in the book entitled: Bridging the gap: Empirical research in simultaneous interpretation (1994). Between 1991 and 1993, she did a post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Department of Clinical Psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She remained there as a staff senior psychologist from 1993 to November 1995 and also functioned as an Adjunct Faculty (part time) at the Medical School. Since then Dr. Green worked as a licensed psychologist conducting neuropsychological evaluations with the Stixrud Group until June of 2016 and then with the Center for Assessment and Treatment (David Back, Ph.D., founder and director) since September 2016.

Dr. Green specializes in assessing language, attention, executive functioning disorders, learning disabilities and emotional/social challenges in children (ages 6 and above), adolescents and adults. The individualized report she provides fully documents the specific underpinnings of each area of learning challenge. Whether there are mild or serious emotional challenges, there is a complete synthesis of the test and history data which explains the roots of the challenges, and how they affect academic, social, and/or emotional behavior. Recommendations always include specific intervention, accommodations and in-school support when appropriate, and detailed description of strategies to enable the individual feel more skilled and emotionally empowered to act effectively on their environment.

Civically, Dr. Green helped to establish the Liberty Educational Endowment Fund, Inc" (Liberty, Ohio) one of the earliest endowment funds for public schools in the U.S., and as Vice President in the Women's Division of Jewish Federation of Youngstown, Ohio, she was instrumental in the establishment of Akiva Academy.

To remain aware of change in the field, at this time, in addition to attending professional workshops and conferences, Dr. Green maintains a professional affiliation with the American Psychological Association, and the International Neuropsychological Society and the Maryland Psychological Association. For the achievements throughout her career, she has been the recipient of grants from Youngstown State University and the University of Delaware between 1987 and 1989. Likewise, Dr. Green has been selected for inclusion for Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who of American Women, International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women (1991, 2nd Ed. International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England) and Who's Who in American Education (the National Reference Institute, Wilmette, IL.).
