SALEM, SC, July 05, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Donald Henry Liebenberg, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Liebenberg celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by more than 55 years of professional excellence, Dr. Liebenberg has been serving as a specialist in material sciences for the U.S. Department of Energy from 1995 to 1998 and as an adjunct professor of physics at Clemson University since 1995. At the inception of his career in 1961, he joined the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico as a staff member for 20 years. Over the years, he gained valuable expertise as a program director of solar terrestrial research and low temperature physics for the National Science Foundation in Washington, DC, and as a science officer with the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, Virginia. Throughout his career, he has achieved much, becoming the first to apply fluctuation theory to helium superfluid film flow and the first to apply Fabry-Perot interferometry to solar physics emission line profile determination. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of being the first person to trap gas in a diamond anvil cell.

A noted fellow of the American Physical Society, Dr. Liebenberg holds a Bachelor of Science in physics and astronomy, Master of Science in physics and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. To remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the American Physical Society, American Astronomical Society, the American Geophysical Union and the Cosmos Club. Utilizing his considerable knowledge, he authored a book chapter for "Chemistry of High Temperature Superconductor" in 1991 and co-edited "Magnetic Susceptibility of Superconductors and Other Spin Systems."

In light of his professional excellence, Dr. Liebenberg was honored with a Boris Bakhmeteff Foundation grant in 1958. In the near future, Dr. Liebenberg intends to continue parlaying his knowledge to his students at Clemson University.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Liebenberg has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
