In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Jonniepat Mobley is especially proud of being guest poet at San Luis Obispo's "Poets on the Edge" program.

An accomplished listee, Jonniepat Mobley celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. At the beginning of her career in the early 1960s, Dr. Mobley worked as a lecturer for Mount Saint Mary's College and as a professor for West Los Angeles College. Following these appointments, she found success with Cuesta College and as the director of Parish Players and Mission Players. Moreover, Dr. Mobley has excelled through her exemplary efforts with the Central Coast Readers' Theatre and Read Together: A Community Reading Experience at the Los Osos Library.

Certified as an English, speech and theater teacher, Dr. Mobley has earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Saint Mary's College. She continued her studies with a Master of Arts from California State University. Subsequently, Dr. Mobley graduated from the University of Southern California with a Doctor of Philosophy.

During her spare time, Dr. Mobley contributes to those less fortunate through PETA, Morro Bay Meals on Wheels and the People's Kitchen at the local homeless shelter. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, she authored "Dictionary of Theater and Drama," the "Access to Shakespeare" series and "Play Production Today!" Additionally, Dr. Mobley wrote and directed such productions as "Nursery Crimes," "Snug Harbor," "Murder at Maywood" and "The Orange Grove."

In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Mobley is especially proud of being guest poet at San Luis Obispo's "Poets on the Edge" program. For her excellence in the field, she was recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman in America in 1965. Looking toward the future, Dr. Mobley intends to continue to write, direct and serve her community.
