Charles Jordan Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

After accruing 47 years of practiced experience in his field, Mr. Jordan retired from his role as an electrical engineer for Raytheon Company in 2014. Previously, he served as an electrical engineer for Hughes Aircraft in 1997. Mr. Jordan began his career in the field in 1967 as an apprentice electronic mechanic for the Naval Avionics Facility, which later became the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division-Indianapolis..

Over the years, Mr. Jordan also worked for the Center as an electronics mechanic, electronics technician and electronics engineer. Even though his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of being involved in a military grade classified cruise missile project, which he credits as one of the most exciting moments of his life. While working with the Boy Scouts, Mr. Jordan was also responsible for the project "POSTAR," which was a fiber-optic experiment used on the space shuttle Endeavor STS-47.

Mr. Jordan pursued an education at Purdue University (Lifetime Member, Purdue Alumni Association), where he earned an Associate of Arts and Science in electrical engineering technology in 1971 and a Bachelor of Science in electrical technology in 1974. He maintains his professional affiliation with the American Philatelic Society and the Boy Scouts of America's Crossroads of America Council. Due to his outstanding efforts in electrical engineering, he been presented with several awards, including the District E Award and a Council E Award from the Boy Scouts of America in 1977 and 1982, the Bronze Big Horn Award in 1985, the Silver Beaver Award in 1992, a Community Service Award from the Naval Avionics Center in 1989, a Service to Mankind Award from Sertoma International in 1990, and the J.H. Kurner Service Award from the Indiana Stamp Club, of which he is a life member, in 2001. He is also a member of the Amity United Methodist Church in Greenfield, IN, serving as financial chair/secretary since 1991. Additionally, Mr. Jordan was featured in the first edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and the 24th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest.
