Dr. Dickson's many accomplishments will be remembered fondly by Marquis Who's Who

Dickson Jr., PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. After accruing more than 30 years of practiced experience in engineering, Dr. Dickson retired from his role as chief engineer of the Nuclear Materials Processing Division at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1995 after fulfilling the role for three years. Earlier in his career, he served the U.S. Air Force for eight years before being discharged as a captain and joining Westinghouse in 1963. Over the years, he has held a number of roles with the manufacturing giant, including manager of weapon systems, manager of advanced projects, manager of reactor analysis and core design, and technical director. Additionally, he has served on various committees at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory, as well as with NASA. Even though his career has been filled with highlights, he was especially proud of serving as technical director for the Clinch River Breeder Reactor Project.
An expert in his field, Dr. Dickson holds a Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering and a Master of Science from the University of Arizona, and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from North Carolina State University. To remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation as a fellow of the American Nuclear Society, and as a member of the American Physical Society, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
In light of his outstanding work in engineering, Dr. Dickson was featured in professional publications such as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering. In the coming years, Dr. Dickson intends to continue enjoying his retirement. In fact, he was an accredited bridge teacher and certified club director by the American Bridge League.
The Marquis Who's Who Community is saddened at the passing of Dr. Dickson. After a 30-year career and a 60-year marriage to his loving wife, Mr. Dickson passed away in May of 2019. His many accomplishments will be remembered fondly by Marquis Who's Who.
