John Cohassey is respected for his broad body of work/

In preparation of his career, he pursued an education at Oakland Community College, graduating with an associate's degree in psychology in 1985. A short time later, he obtained a bachelor's degree in history from Oakland University in 1990. Mr. Cohassey concluded his studies with a Master of Arts in history from Wayne State University (Detroit) in 1993.

Respected for his broad body of work, Mr. Cohassey has written "The Toast of the Town and Times of Sunnie Wilson" (1998), "American Cultural Rebels: Avant-garde and Bohemian Artists, Writers and Musicians from the 1850s Through the 1960s," "Hemingway and Pound, A Most Unlikely Friendship" (2014) and "The 22nd Michigan Infantry and the Road to Chickamauga" (2019). Additionally, he has authored numerous articles for professional journals. Civically, he served as the chairperson of the Pontiac Historic District Commission in Michigan. Mr. Cohassey is a board member for the Michigan Hemingway Society.

For his accomplishments, Mr. Cohassey was presented with an Award of Merit from the Historical Society of Michigan in 1998. Likewise, he has been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in Entertainment. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Mr. Cohassey enjoys music, collecting antiques, and reading.
