OTIS, OR, July 11, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Frank William King with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. King celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A celebrated teacher and public and media relations professional, Mr. King retired in 1987 as an instructor at the Portland Community College in Portland, Oregon. His tenure in academia also included appointments as an adjunct assistant professor of communications and as the director of public relations at the University of Portland. In the field, Mr. King was employed with the U.S. Army as a public affairs officer in Walla Walla, Washington, for nearly a decade beginning in 1968 and as an information officer in Los Angeles for three years prior. Equally impressive, he spent 16 years as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration between 1949 and 1965 working in Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Boise, Idaho.

A career that was heavily influenced by his former military history, Mr. King served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1942 to 1945. He has since been active in his community on the Los Angeles Federal Executive Board as an executive assistant, the Walla Walla County Alcoholism Administrative Board as chairman and vice chairman, and the Walla Walla County Human Services Administrative Board as chairman.

A freelance writer since 1960, Mr. King has contributed articles to numerous professional journals, magazines and newspapers. He later authored his first book in 2001, titled "The Sweet Cherry Ranch: A Memoir." An earthy, tough and moving account of his continuing recovery from alcoholism, the memoir goes into detail about his and his brother's addiction and his life as a World War II Marine, radioman-gunner in dive bombers, radio operator, civilian air traffic controller, writer, public relations manager and father.

Attending Santa Monica College during the 1940s and the University of Utah during the 1960s, Mr. King ultimately received a Bachelor of Arts from Marylhurst University in Marylhurst, Oregon, in 1979. He also completed a Master of Arts at the University of Portland in 1982.

Mr. King is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Public Relations Society of America and Kappa Tau Alpha. A 1965 William Randolph Hearst Foundation scholar, he was also decorated with an Air Medal from the military. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. King has been cited in over a dozen editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Media and Communication, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. King has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
