Supported by professional excellence and a strong educational background, Mr. Lambert began his career as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York City from 1959 to 1963. He later became a senior partner, co-founder, and chair at Peabody, Lambert & Meyers, in Washington between 1969 and 1985, later joining Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Washington as a partner from 1997 to 2002. Subsequently, he began his tenure with Global Crossing Ltd., where he held the posts of co-chair of the board of directors, and member of the executive committee, between 2002 and 2011. Mr. Lambert has flourished as the founder and partner of the Law Office of Jeremiah D. Lambert in Washington since 2008.

In addition to his primary responsibilities, Mr. Lambert also donated his expertise as an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University in Washington, a trustee for the International Law Institute in Washington, a member of the advisory committee on electricity futures contracts for the New York Mercantile Exchange, and a member of the board of editors for the Yale Law Journal. Utilizing his knowledge and professional experience, he has contributed articles to legal publications and authored the books, "Creating Competitive Power Markets: The PJM Model," "Energy Companies and Market Reform: How Deregulation Went Wrong," "Economic and Political Incentives to Petroleum Development," and the Handbook of Modern Construction Law. His latest work, That Power Brokers, a History of the Electric Power Industry in the US, was published by the MIT Press in 2015. A former first lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves, Mr. Lambert served between 1963 and 1966.

Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Lambert earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in New Jersey in 1955. He was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Following this accomplishment, he attained a Bachelor of Laws from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1959. Licensed to practice law by the New York State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar in 1960 and 1964, respectively, Mr. Lambert has also been admitted to practice by the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

To remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Lambert maintains professional ties with the American Bar Association, the American Society of International Law, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. For excellence in his studies, he was honored as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark from 1955 to 1956. Likewise, Mr. Lambert has been selected for inclusion in numerous editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
