Mr. Morris is a retired financial executive, consultant and investor of nearly 50 years who concluded his career as the president of Beacon Wealth Management (formerly known as Morris & Associates, P.A.) in Sarasota, Florida, in 2017. Establishing his firm in 1981, he formerly worked for Equitable Financial Services in Sarasota as a representative and Jaeger Machine Company in Columbus, Ohio, beginning as a personnel manager and working his way up to assistant to the president. Further, Mr. Morris spent several years as co-general partner of Beacon Bridge Loan Pool, Ltd., between 1994 and 1997.
Shortly after relocating to West Florida, Mr. Morris began serving as chairman of the board of directors for MAP Financial Group, Inc., in Sarasota. He later co-owned U.S.I.S.L. West Florida Fury Soccer Team and served on the board of directors and as vice president of the Soccer Resource Group, also in Sarasota. Mr. Morris also lent his expertise as a seminar lecturer for High Mark Insurance Services, Inc., and Beacon Wealth Management and as a columnist for a local publication called "The Creative News." He is most proud, however, of the time he spent with his youth community soccer league. The league notably provided a safe facility for the youth of the surrounding area to learn to play the sport.
Mr. Morris held various civic appointments across West Florida. He was chairman of the West Coast chapter and board of directors member of March of Dimes in Bradenton, Florida, and board of director of the Epilepsy Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc. He was also vice president of All School Kids, Inc.
Mr. Morris studied at the Ohio State University and was active in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps Air Force between 1960 and 1961. He later acquired a Bachelor of Arts from Otterbein University in 1966 and has since pursued additional postgraduate coursework in law at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio, at the College for Financial Planning in Denver, where he was awarded a Certified Financial Planner designation, and the Institute of Certified Fund Specialists, where he was awarded a Certified Fund Specialist designation. Mr. Morris is also a registered investment advisor, licensed living trust advisor and certified divorce planner.
A member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, Mr. Morris is also a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been featured in over 30 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, and Who's Who in the World.
