With more than 35 years of professional experience, Ms. Boudreaux found success with Community Rehabilitation Hospital Counseling from 1997 to 1999. Prior to this role, she worked as an assistant professor of nursing at Louisiana State University from 1992 to 1996, an instructor of nursing at Houston Community College from 1988 to 1991, and a psychiatric nursing coordinator with Spring Shadows Glen from 1987 to 1988. Ms. Boudreaux previously excelled as a clinical specialist with the VA Medical Center from 1980 to 1987 and an instructor at Texas Woman's University from 1976 to 1980.

Ms. Boudreaux began her career as the head of surgery and a medical nurse with Lafayette Charity Hospital from 1962 to 1965 and as a psychiatric staff nurse with the VA Hospital from 1968 to 1972. In addition to her primary roles, she completed service with the United States Army, during which time she commissioned as a first lieutenant in 1965, advancing to the rank of colonel prior to her retirement in 1995. While serving in her active duty, Ms. Boudreaux was a psychiatric nurse with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps.

Ms. Boudreaux initially pursued an education at the Charity Hospital School for Nursing, where she obtained a diploma in 1962. She later continued her studies at Saint Edward's University, completing a Bachelor of Arts, maxima cum laude, in 1974. Ms. Boudreaux concluded her academic efforts at Texas Woman's University, earning a Master of Science in psychiatry and mental health nursing in 1976.

A respected voice in her areas on interest, Ms. Boudreaux has been associated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, and the Acadiana CISM for the Fire Department. Ms. Boudreaux has also been affiliated with the Association of Military Surgeons of the US, the Reserve Officers Association, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the Retired Officers Association, the Retired Army Nurse Corps Association, the Vietnam Veteran Association, and Sigma Theta Tau.

In light of her many achievements in the field, Ms. Bourdeaux has received a number of awards and accolades throughout her career. As a member of the Acadiana Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, she was recognized for her work during tornadoes in Northwest Louisiana in 1998, a windstorm in 1999, federal emergencies in 2000 and disaster response in 2001. Until 2005, she earned a number of accolades for her work from the American Red Cross.

Ms. Bourdeaux passed away on October 21, 2018.
