Stan Damast Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    WESTBURY, NY, July 17, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Stan Damast with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Damast celebrates many years of experience in the educational field, and has been noted for his achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. An esteemed educator, Mr. Damast excelled as an Assistant Professor of Graphic Arts Communications and Electronics at City College of New York and New York City Technical College, 1971-2002. He was also a Technology Education instructor in New York City, at John Bowne H.S. (1969-1971), Jamaica H.S. (1971-1974), South Shore H.S. (1974-1994), and Thomas A. Edison Vocational/Technical H.S. (1994-2002). Mr. Damast found success in other educational positions for the New York City Department of Education including curriculum writing, classroom shop design, publication printing for the NYC Chancellor's office, and as a teaching license examiner for the Board of Examiners NYC.

Upon retirement, Mr. Damast, as President of SLR Technologies, Inc., created a company involved in home renovation concepts for individuals with disabilities (Long Island, NY).

Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Damast earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (1969), a Master of Science in Education (1971) from City College of New York, and advanced graduate courses in Graphic Communications at Teachers College Columbia University, NY, towards a doctorate degree.

He retains his professional affiliation with the United Federation of Teachers union (50-year member), the American Federation of Teachers, the In-Plant Printing Management Association, the Teachers Printing Guild of New York, The New York City Technology Education Association (past president), the Association for the Graphic Arts, and Epsilon Pi Tau, a national education honor association. Additionally, Mr. Damast was the president of the Parents Association of Temple Isiah, Queens, NY, (1990-1992), and is now a performing member and soloist of The Rockville Centre Choral Society, Lynbrook, NY, since 2004.

With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Mr. Damast co-authored "V.T.R.- A Curriculum Guide for Teachers for Junior and Senior H.S. (1972). He has contributed his research in numerous articles in professional journals and has been a supporter and speaker for Technology Education for many years. Throughout his career, he has been awarded many times, accepting the New York State Industrial Arts Teacher of the Year (1982), the New York City Industrial Arts Teacher of the Year (1980 and 1981). Mr. Damast has been featured in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the East. His greatest awards is having educated thousands of children and teachers, as well as his pride in his wife, children, and grandchildren.
