Ronald C. Whittemore Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Athletics

Mr. Whittemore ably demonstrates that age is never a factor when he seeks to accomplish his goals



    CLAREMONT, NH, July 17, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ronald C. Whittemore has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Though he has excelled as a programming manager for Datamann, Inc., Mr. Whittemore is most proud to have competed in every National Senior Game since 1995. A long-distance runner and jumper with a history of athleticism that extends all the way back to his participation in the 1962 Boston Marathon, he earned fourth place in the all-time records of the senior triple jump event in 2013, and achieved second place for his performance during the triple jump event in 2017. Mr. Whittemore has been recognized as an All-American at the New Hampshire Senior Games, competing and very often winning 5K and 10K races over the past 30 years.

An Olympian of great renown, Mr. Whittemore set the record in Claremont for most consecutive days running through the United States Running Streak Association. He has won numerous first place victories at various events throughout New England, including three accumulated for long jump, triple jump, and 100-meter dash events during the National Senior Games held in Burlington, Vermont in 2018. Likewise, Mr. Whittemore attained first place during the long jump held at the Dartmouth Relays in Hanover in 2010. He was additionally presented with four gold medals accumulated during the Vermont Senior Games in 2008. In light of his outstanding physical efforts, Mr. Whittemore received spotlight coverage in the Eagle Times in 2008, 2011, and 2018, as well as the Valley News in 2010 and 2011.

Adjacent to his career as a professional sportsman, Mr. Whittemore earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Hawthorne College in 1984. He maintains his professional affiliation with the Association of Information Technology Professionals. Previously, he was a member of the board of directors for Circle 8 Square Dance, and served as the president of White Mountain Chess. In civic pursuits, Mr. Whittemore was honored to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960, and the U.S. Air Force between 1961 and 1965. Today, he contributes his time and resources to the Claremont Bridge Club.
