After gaining 45 years of professional excellence in his field, Dr. Belle Isle retired from his myriad positions at Mercury Computer Systems, Inc., in 2010, where he sat on the board of directors and served as chairman of the nominating and government committee and member of the auditing committee. Earlier in his career, he joined General Electric as an engineer and worked there for nearly a decade before accruing valuable experience in varying roles with GE Electronics Library, Wang Laboratories, Custom Silicon, Inc., and Emusil Corporation. Additionally, he worked with a number of educational institutions such as Syracuse University, Union College and Boston University as an adjunct faculty member.
An expert in his field, Dr. Belle Isle holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, now known as the New York University Tandon School of Engineering. He holds a 50 Ton Master License through the United States Coast Guard. To remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Electronics Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In his spare time, he contributes to his community through the United Way of Central Berkshire, the Andover Industry Education Collaborative and the Massachusetts State Microelectronics Center Task Force.
In light of his outstanding work, Dr. Belle Isle earned an Inventor's Award from General Electric and numerous features in Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
