    RENO, NV, July 23, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Elissa Slanger, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Slanger celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Now retired, Dr. Slanger flourished as a licensed clinical psychologist in the states of Nevada and California for nearly two decades. Her most recent appointment was as a clinical psychologist for a private practice in Reno, Nevada, in 1994. Prior to this engagement, she briefly worked as a management consultant for Capax Global in Modesto, California, between 1992 and 1993, having previously contributed as a psychology assistant for the Mountain Employee Assistance Program in Reno from 1989 to 1994. Earlier in her career, Dr. Slanger was associated with Woman's Way Adventures in Tahoe City, California, as well as Woman's Way Ski Seminars in Truckee, California, as a director and president between 1975 and 1993.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Slanger pursued formal education at Cornell University, where she pursued coursework between 1951 and 1953. Shortly thereafter, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Columbia University in 1958. Dr. Slanger later enrolled at the Fielding Graduate University, where she secured a Master of Science in 1989. She concluded her academic efforts with a Doctor of Philosophy from the institution in 1991.

To remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Slanger maintains affiliation with the California Psychological Association and the Nevada Psychological Association, where she served as secretary, chair of the member committee in the North Division, president-elect and president. An avid and expert skier, she is also the co-author of the book "Ski Woman's Way," which was published in 1979. Additionally, she was inducted into the Veteran Ski Instructors' Hall of Fame in 2004. As a testament to her success, Dr. Slanger was selected for inclusion in the 21st edition of Who's Who of American Women in 1998.
