Dr. Longstreth led a successful career as an academic administrator for over three decades. Her most recent appointment was as a career and technical director in Marysville, Washington, between 2008 and 2013, having previously served in the same position in Bremerton from 1998 to 2008. Prior engagements include working as the director of applied learning at the Chief Leschi Schools in Puyallup, Washington, the executive director of the Washington State Council on Vocation Education in Olympia, and an associate dean as well as the manager of the evening program with Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado, between 1989 and 1998.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Longstreth contributed to the field of healthcare, holding the posts of in-service coordinator, clinical coordinator, staff therapist and administrative program director with institutions in Sacramento, California, and Fort Collins, Colorado. Other professional endeavors to her credit include serving as an adjunct faculty member for South Seattle College since 2000 and Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington since 2014.

Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Longstreth pursued a formal education at the College of the Desert in Palm Springs, California, and earned an Associate of Arts in 1970. Ten years later, she attended and graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a bachelor's degree in vocational education in 1980. Soon thereafter, Dr. Longstreth enrolled at Colorado State University, where she concluded her studies with a Master of Arts in education in 1984 and a Doctor of Philosophy in vocational education in 1992.

In a career filled with several highlights, Dr. Longstreth was proud to have served as a past president of the Washington Association of Vocational Administrators. For her accomplishments in the field, she was honored as an Outstanding Career and Technical Educator by the Washington Association for Career and Technical Education in 2002. A member of the American Association of University Women, she has maintained affiliation with the Association for Career and Technical Education and the Soroptimist International of Greater Bremerton Area. Outside of work, Dr. Longstreth enjoys reading, genealogy and quilting in her spare time.
