Supported by more than 40 years of professional excellence and an impressive educational background, Dr. Creasy prepared for his career by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in education from Ashland College in Ohio in 1977. Soon thereafter, he graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, with a Master of Education in 1978. He concluded his studies with a Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum and instruction from the University of Akron in Ohio in 2005.
Dr. Creasy has flourished as a social studies educator, with his most recent appointment being an associate professor with the University of Northern Colorado since 2013. Prior to this engagement, he served as an associate professor at Slippery Rock University between 2003 and 2013. At the inception of his career, he worked as an elementary school teacher for the Slippery Rock Area School District in Pennsylvania from 1977 to 2003. Other professional endeavors to his credit include contributing as a reviewer for the Teachers College at Columbia University in New York City.

Additionally, he has written a number of articles and reviews to professional journals and was elected by faculty members at Slippery Rock University to chair multiple university-wide committees. Dr. Creasy is proud to have founded The Field Experience Journal and be selected by the Slippery Rock University president, Dr. Robert Smith, to be a fellow of the Institute for Educational Leadership in Washington, DC, as well as the Educational Policy and Leadership Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
For his accomplishments in the field, Dr. Creasy has been the recipient of numerous accolades, such as Slippery Rock Area School District Top Ten Recognition by the Slippery Rock School District School board of directors, the "Educators Make the Difference Award" from Kappa Delta Pi, and a nomination for the American Teacher Award from the Walt Disney Company, among others. To remain abreast of developments in the field of education, Dr. Creasy is professionally aligned with the Colorado Education Association, the Association of Teachers Educators, the National Council for the Social Studies, the National Network for the Study of Educator Dispositions and the Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies. In his spare time, he serves as a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader and the director of the National Field Experience Conference.
