He worked as an associate with its predecessor, Baskin, Casseb, Gilliland, Rodgers and Robertson from 1971 to 1974 and with Lieck, Lieck and Leon from 1969 to 1971.
Mr. Pearl graduated from the United States Military Academy obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1960. Commissioned in the United States Army, he served with the Fifth, Seventh and Eighth Special Forces Groups, being part of the Fort Bragg, North Carolina ceremony wherein President Kennedy authorized the "Green Beret" as the official head gear. Leaving the military in 1965 as a Captain. He continued his work with the explosives begun in the military as a technical representative of the El DuPont Explosives Department from 1965 to 1967.
Mr. Pearl pursued his legal education with St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, obtaining a Juris Doctor in 1969 where he met his mentor and longtime partner, Judge Solomon Casseb, Jr. Mr. Pearl is a member of the State Bar of Teas, admitted to practice in all of the state courts, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court for the Western District of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. While active in the practice of law, Mr. Pearl was certified by the Texas State Bar in areas of Civil Trial Law and Family Law.
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Pearl engaged in various business and civic activities. He has participated in various automobile related business activities starting with auto parts stores, auto repair shops and two General Motors Dealerships. Other business endeavors included being a director of TexStar Bank and MissionBank, managing partner of Pearl, Ltd. And a member of Pearl Associates, LLC which is active in business management. With his brother, they formed AmeriTech Machine Tools, Inc for the importation of robotics and machine tools from Japan, Singapore, Korea and Taiwan to the United States, Canada and Mexico. In connection with his co-trusteeship of the Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust, he is also a manager of real estate entities, Derrick Management, LLC, Mountain Hawk, LLC, Data Park Center, LLC, Heathrow Forrest, LLC, and North Park Buildings I & II. The Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust under the co-management of Mr. J.C. Martin III and Mr. Pearl provides funding for numerous charitable organizations in the area of Laredo, Texas including academic and vocational scholarships, grade school tutoring, low income housing and food assistance and many of the needs of the area for which they have received numerous acknowledgments.
