Esther C. Davy, RN, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Davy has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of nursing

NEW YORK, NY, July 31, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Esther C. Davy with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Davy celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Davy began her career in nursing with a diploma from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corp. in Guyana. As a child, she had admired the dedication and professionalism of a visiting nurse who attended to her mother during an illness and, while she initially prepared for a career in education, in her last year of high school she refocused her goals on nursing. With the support of her brother, Herman Pickett, her husband, Milton Davy and her friend and mentor, Eugene Edwards, Ms. Davy moved away from home and pursued a Bachelor of Science in nursing, with a focus on rehabilitation, at the New York Institute of Technology, graduating cum laude in 1984.

After her graduation, Ms. Davy became an assistant head nurse at the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, eventually rising to the position of head nurse, which she held for 7 years. In 1976, she became a supervisor at the Caton Park Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she served until 1980. Joining the Cabrini Medical Center in New York City in 1980, Ms. Davy acted as a nursing team leader and the head night nurse until her retirement in 1994.

A certified medical-surgical nurse, Ms. Davy is notably a member of the New York State Nurses Association, where she spent time on the public relations committee. She has also been involved with the Rugby Deliverance Tabernacle Church as a member for over 50 years. In her retirement, Ms. Davy frequently attends the Remsen Neighborhood Senior Center and enjoys staying active by dancing and walking.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Davy has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
