Supported by years of professional excellence and an impressive academic background, Dr. Kramer found success as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Audiology in Otorhinolaryngology at Weill Cornell College of Medicine, an Associate in Audiology and Director of the Hearing & Speech Service in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center, and a forensic audiology and litigation consultant with a private practice in New York City since 1978. At the beginning of his prestigious career, he served as a graduate clinical assistant at Temple University, further progressing to a part-time laboratory and clinical audiologist at the Hy Weinberg Center at Adelphi University, between 1965 and 1968. Soon thereafter, Dr. Kramer accepted the position of the Chief of the Department of Audiology at the Lutheran Medical Center between 1969 and 1972, and establishing a private practice in clinical and forensic audiology, consulting in matters related to hearing loss, occupational medical standards, and occupational hearing loss.

As he continued to advance in his career, Dr. Kramer held the posts of an adjunct assistant professor at the Institute of Health Sciences at Hunter College, an assistant professor and the Director of the Hearing and Speech Sciences Laboratory at Hofstra University, and was Director of the Audiology at the Long Island College Hospital between 1972 and 1981 and Adjunct Professor in the AuD doctoral program at St. John's University. An active professional in the field, he has been involved in a number of career-related endeavors, contributing as the Consultant in Audiology for New York City's Fire Department (FDNY). Police Department (NYPD) and Department of Corrections (DOC) over many decades, as well as serving as a litigation consultant and expert witness for the United States Marshals Service, and a consultant in audiology for the New York City Employees' Retirement System.

Dr. Kramer initially pursued his studies at Temple University with Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 1965. He was awarded a Veterans Administration graduate traineeship in clinical audiology (1966 -1967, subsequently graduating with a Master of Arts in Audiology from Temple University in 1967 then continuing his post-graduate education through a United States Rehabilitation Services Administration traineeship between 1967 and 1969, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in audiology and psychoacoustics from the Graduate Division of the City University of New York in 1972.. Moreover, Dr. Kramer accrued over ten certifications and licenses relating to the practice of audiology nationally and including the states of New York, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania.

Along with his associate, in 1982 he was editor and a chapter contributor to a text and reference volume entitled Forensic Audiology, the first volume dedicated to this sub-specialty. Dr. Kramer has contributed chapters to other books, including Industrial Hearing Conservation, Hospital Based Ambulatory Care, Noise & Health and The Encyclopedia of Elder Care. He has provided numerous interviews with print and broadcast media, primarily on noise related issues.

For his extraordinary achievements and accomplishments in the field, Dr. Kramer has been the recipient of numerous accolades and honors. Presented with the Service Achievement Awards from the New York City Police Department, he has also accepted the Public Service Award from the New York City Speech, Hearing and Language Association for his service at Ground Zero and a Certificate of Honor from the American Academy of Otolaryngology, among others. Likewise, he has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. Outside of his professional duties, Dr. Kramer has served for over three decades as a post-finish line supervisor at the NYC Marathon, projects manager with the New York City Firefighters Burn Center Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of the James Madison High School (Brooklyn, NY) Alumni Association, and as a community representative on the Institutional Biosafety Committee at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He enjoys collecting firematic antiques, especially books and miniature fire trucks, musical theater, woodworking, and other handicrafts in his spare time.
