Backed by many years of professional experience, Ms. Blair currently serves as a Senior Instructional Assistant/Behavioral Challenge for the Downey Unified School District. She embarked upon her professional path as a long-distance operator for Pacific Telephone from 1965 to 1966. A hard-working and dedicated professional, Ms. Blair further built her career as a phone operator for the Tel-Page Answering Service from 1966 to 1976, a supervisor for the Rowe Service Company from 1972 to 1979, and a receptionist for the Hacker Clinic from 1980 to 1981, and a secretary for the Spring Anesthesia Group, Inc. from 1985 to 1991. She is also a retired pipefitter with Union Local 250, of which she has been a member since 1991. She was accepted into their apprentice program and received a certificate of completion as a journeyman air conditioning and refrigeration pipefitter, which is now classified as building trades journeyman air conditioning, refrigeration, pipe fitter and steam fitter. When she retired from Local 250, she started working in education.
In 1984, Ms. Blair obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Chaminade University, where she served as a library assistant. Though her life has been filled with amazing moments, she especially proud of graduating from college. The experience was a labor of love, but now, she is working in a fulfilling job because of her determination.
In her spare time, she contributes to her community through the Coalition of Residents of Lynwood and she has taught religion at several parishes for over 25 years. For her professional excellence, she has been celebrated numerous times, having been featured in Who's Who in the West and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. Looking toward the future, Ms. Blair intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
