Supported by more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Tickner has excelled as the associate superintendent of education for the Southeastern California Conference since 2018. Prior to this appointment, she served as the principal of the Loma Linda Academy between 2016 and 2018, having previously contributed in the same capacity on behalf of the Orangewood Academy in Garden Grove for six years. Earlier in her career, she taught at the Monterey Bay Academy in La Selva Beach from 1985 to 2001, later accepting the position of a teacher with Loma Linda Academy between 2001 and 2005. Ms. Tickner also worked as the vice-principal of the aforementioned institution from 2006 to 2010. In addition to her primary endeavors, she has taught at La Sierra University in Riverside since 2008.
The highlight of Ms. Tickner's career was being an agent of change. She was proud to have achieved so much as a principal and a vice-principal. During her five years as vice-principal for Loma Linda Academy, she honed her managerial skills and learned how to manage people and supervise instructions. Civically, Ms. Tickner was a church elder for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Grand Terrace for 14 years. An expert in the field, she has contributed numerous articles to professional journals.
A graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, Ms. Tickner earned a Bachelor of Science in secondary education in 1983. Furthermore, she secured a Master of Arts in leadership and administration from La Sierra University in 2006. To remain aware of changes in the field, she maintains a membership for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Tickner has been featured in editions of Who's Who in America.
