Dr. Xie formerly worked as a principal software/firmware engineer for Arbin Instruments in College Station, and as a research scientist at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University.
A recognized engineer, physicist, and researcher, Dr. Xie is a proficient electrical research and development engineer. His responsibilities include the design of high technology and developing the software and firmware for embedded real-time systems. He initially completed postdoctoral fellowships at Fudan University at the University of Toronto before residing in Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt fellow. Dr. Xie then became a research associate at Queen's University and a guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Maryland before working in Texas.
An alumnus of Wuhan University, Dr. Xie received a Bachelor of Science in theoretical and computational physics in 1991, and a Master Program in computational science in 1993. He subsequently obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in theoretical and computational physics at Nanjing University in 1996. Dr. Xie has since completed postdoctoral studies in computational chemistry at the University of Toronto in Canada during 1997-1998.
Leveraging his boundless knowledge of the field, Dr. Xie has contributed over 140 articles to scientific journals. In 2017, he became the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience. Among other responsibilities, Dr. Xie oversees junior and senior editors, and outlines and makes publication decisions.
To remain aware of current trends in the industry, Dr. Xie has maintained his membership within the American Chemical Society and the American Physical Society. Likewise, he holds the distinction of being a member of the honorable society of Sigma Xi.
