In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Cho is affiliated with the Korea Electric Association, the Korean Welding and Joining Society and the Korean Society of Pressure Vessels and Piping. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he authored a thesis on narrow-gap machine welding of RCL (Reactor Coolant Loop) pipes using rotating electrodes, and rebar welding systems using stud welding. For his outstanding work in the field, he was presented with a Commendation Medal from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
