A celebrated healthcare professional of more than 40 years, Ms. Faust retired in 2003 from her position as the chief nursing officer at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, after serving for three years in her position. Having originally found success at St. Vincent Pallott Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, as a nurse, she was later employed by West Virginia University Hospital through which she worked her way up from a staff nurse to the director of the nursing clinical system. She likewise served as the vice president of patient care services at the East New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell and spent several months as an instructor at the Kings Daughter Hospital School of Nursing in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Ms. Faust received a diploma from the Washington School of Nursing in 1958 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University in 1981. Thereafter, she received certification in nursing administration through the University of Minnesota in 1989, and became a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New Mexico. Throughout her professional journey, Ms. Faust served on the advisory board for the Chavez County Ambulance in Roswell and on the board of directors for the St. Francis Clinic in Carlsbad. Moreover, she was involved in numerous civic engagements, serving on the board of directors for the Chavez County United Way in Roswell, and the Southeastern Green Community Health Clinic in Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
A member and former scholarship reviewer of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Ms. Faust is also a member and former district III representative of the New Mexico Nurse Executives. The New Mexico Nurse Executives honored her with the "Marjorie Jaretta Faust Excellence in Nursing Leadership" Award in 2000. Ms. Faust is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the president of her local AARP chapter, and a former executive council member of the State of New Mexico as well, a position she upheld between 2011 and 2018. For her myriad of accomplishments in the field, Ms. Faust has received numerous accolades, notably being inducted in the AARP New Mexico Hall of Fame in 2017. She is likewise a celebrated Marquis listee, having been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who of America Women.
