Dr. Jerrod Wheeler earned the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award, the Missouri Gold Star Schools Award, and the Pete Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award in 2017 and 2019.
KNOB NOSTER, MO, August 23, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jerrod Wheeler has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A fourth-generation school superintendent on his father's side of the family, Dr. Wheeler was drawn to pursue a similar career path. After working for five years as a principal of Espy Elementary from 2004 until 2009, he became the superintendent of Sherwood Cass School District for three years. From there, he served as the superintendent of schools for West Platte School District from 2012 until 2014. The following year, he obtained a similar position for Knob Noster School District. It is Dr. Wheeler's belief that "sometimes the unwritten curriculum in a school district is far more important than any piece of written curriculum."
Before beginning his professional journey in education, Dr. Wheeler earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1999, a Master of Education in 2001, and a Doctor of Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2003. Subsequently, he pursued further knowledge through the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Dr. Wheeler maintains his professional affiliation with the Association of Defense Communities, the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools, the Military Impacted Schools Association, the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission, and the Missouri Association of School Administrators.
In civic affairs, Dr. Wheeler contributes his time and resources to his community through his local chapter of Rotary International, the Knob Noster's Lions Club and the Whiteman Area Leadership Council. Over the years, he has been recognized on several occasions for his contributions to education, earning the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award, the Missouri Gold Star Schools Award, and the Pete Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award in 2017 and 2019. In the coming years, Dr. Wheeler intends to either remain in the same role or pursue a similar position at a military-impacted school.
