A licensed professional counselor, Dr. LaGanga has excelled as the vice president of quality and informatics for Mental Health Partners in Boulder, Colorado, from 2015-2017. Prior to this appointment, she worked at the Mental Health Center of Denver, where she held the posts of a mental health therapist, as well as the director, and later vice president, of quality systems and operational excellence between 1994 and 2015. Earlier in her career, she contributed as the director of customer services at Consilium, Inc., in Mountain View, California, before interning as a mental health therapist with the Mental Health Center in Boulder from 1993 to 1994. She has also been a member of the board of directors and has served as board president of Art from Ashes 2014-2015. She served as a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor from 2011-2019. She served the College of Healthcare Operations Management from 2011-2018 as vice president of meetings, vice president of outreach, and president. She served the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science as vice president and president from 2010-2012.

In addition to her primary responsibilities, Dr. LaGanga contributed as a guest faculty member for the Mayo Clinic Conference on Systems Engineering & Operations Research from 2009 to 2012 and an advisor for three health technology start-up companies. She has served as a mentor to health technology startup companies in Boomtown Accelerators since 2018. She served as a lecturer at the University of Colorado Boulder between 2007 and 2009 and the University of Colorado Denver since 2010. Utilizing her expertise in management and health care, Dr. LaGanga's written works include the books "Management Skills for Clinicians," Volumes 1 and 2 ("Transitioning to Administration" and "Advancing Your Skills") as well as articles published in scholarly journals that focus on lean process improvement and clinical appointment scheduling. She has been an ad hoc reviewer of Decision Sciences Journal, editorial board member of the journal Production and Operations Management, and ad-hoc associate editor of the Journal of Operations Management.

An alumnus of the University of Rhode Island, Dr. LaGanga earned a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and computer science, with high distinction, in 1977. Two years later, she secured a Master of Science in operations research and statistics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. She continued her academic efforts by receiving a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling, with high distinction, from Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire, in 1994. Dr. LaGanga obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in business and operations research from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2006.

In light of her accomplishments in the field, Dr. LaGanga was the recipient of the Best Poster Award from the Mayo Clinic Conference, the Golden Abacus Award from the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council, the High Commendation Award from the Production and Operations Management Society, and the Best Article Award from the Decision Sciences Journal. Additionally, she was honored as a Hart Fellow and presented with the Advocate of the Month Award from the Social Opportunity Support Program. Likewise, she was featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World.
