An acclaimed orthopedic surgeon with a background in biomechanics, Dr. Dzioba excelled in his position with the University of Arizona during his 30-year tenure. Additionally, he has gained valuable expertise through the Ruth Jackson visiting professorship in orthopedic surgery in 1986 at the University of Texas in Dallas. Although his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Dzioba is especially proud of inventing the Uniplate, an anterior cervical plate, in 1999, and of his current work on a project that might improve motion in the spine, which can be used in lieu of fusions.
Licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Arizona, Dr. Dzioba earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Western Ontario Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1970. He retains professional affiliation with the North American Spine Society, the Orthopedic Research Society, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Dzioba has received numerous accolades for his outstanding achievements in medicine.
