Mr. Galkin is a multi-company business executive with more than 70 years of practiced excellence in several industries. He began work at the age of 12 and quickly discovered a talent for business. He attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1949. Mr. Galkin completed postgraduate coursework at the University of Oxford in 1950.
From 1949 to 1960, Mr. Galkin was a sales manager for Natco Products Corporation of West Warwick, Rhode Island, rising to vice president in 1960 and president from 1975 to 1994. Among his numerous business ventures, he has been president of Norwood Development Corporation and Arctic Development since 1965 and president of Valley Industries since 1970. Since 1984, Mr. Galkin has been president of New England Warehouse Company and Valley Hydro, and president of NPC South of Chatsworth, Georgia, since 1985. He has been the president and chairman of the board of Natco Home Fashions since 1994.
In addition to his business success, Mr. Galkin was active in the development of Rhode Island's low power hydroelectric infrastructure and a leader in recycling industry development in Rhode Island and Georgia. He was inducted into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame in 2017 and was the recipient of the 2013 Newport Preservation Society Laurel Award, a Williams Award for outstanding contributions to Brown University, and an honorary doctorate from Rhode Island College. In his spare time, Mr. Galkin is an art and history collector with a private museum. He is working on a documentary and has produced almost 100 YouTube videos on Google.
