William G. Crawford, Jr. is proud to have participated in notable cases such as Robertson v. Robertson, which overturned the 1976 Ball decision.

    FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, September 16, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William G. Crawford, Jr. has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As the child of a renowned architect, Mr. Crawford originally intended to follow in his father's footsteps. However, upon taking a technical drafting course in high school and not succeeding, he was inspired by his father once again to become a lawyer instead. At the start of his career, he worked as an aide to the president of Coral Ridge Properties, Inc. while in pursuit of his Bachelor of Science in Commerce at the University of Virginia. Upon graduating, he attended Stetson University's College of Law and earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1975, at which point Mr. Crawford became the sole proprietor of William G. Crawford, Jr. Attorney at Law, where he worked from 1975 until 1984. Mr. Crawford enjoys the distinction of the highest professional rating of "AV" from Martindale-Hubble.

After his departure from private practice, Mr. Crawford worked as an attorney, a director, and a shareholder of Hodges, Gossett, McDonald, Gossett & Crawford between 1984 and 1990. Since then, he has excelled in similar roles and as the vice president of McDonald & Crawford, for which he specializes in real estate, corporate, construction, commercial, probate, wills and trusts, and family law. His present focus is counseling in the areas of sovereign land and water rights. Although Mr. Crawford has achieved much throughout his career, he is especially proud to have participated in notable cases such as Robertson v. Robertson, which overturned the 1976 Ball decision and Gerard J. Hughes v. Otis R. Bowen and Rolle v. State.

With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Mr. Crawford authored the award-winning book, "Florida's Big Dig: The Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway from Jacksonville to Miami 1881 to 1935," which was honored with the Rembert Patrick Prize through the Florida Historical Society. In addition to "Florida's Big Dig," he has authored several other books, articles, and presentations. Notable examples of Mr. Crawford's work include "Sailin' on the Stranahan: A Brief History of the Lauderdale Yacht Club 1938-2013," "Judge Vincent Giblin: The Life and Times of a South Florida Attorney and Judge," "Richard Schermerhorn, Jr, New York Engineer and Landscape Architect: Fort Lauderdale's First City Planner," and "The Long Hard Fight for Equal Rights: A History of Broward County's Colored Beach and the Fort Lauderdale Beach 'Wade-ins' of the Summer of 1961."

Dedicated to his community, Mr. Crawford has contributed his time and resources as a trustee for the Museum of Art-Fort Lauderdale, The Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, the Broward County Historical Commission, Habitat for Humanity, Specialized Urban Ministries and the Legal Aid Society. In recognition of his outstanding work, he was honored with the Local Heroes Award through the Bank of American Excellence Initiative, The Citizen of the Year Award from the City of Fort Lauderdale, "William G. Crawford, Jr. Appreciation Day by the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, FL, and the Outstanding Financial Student Award via the Wall Street Journal. In the near future, Mr. Crawford intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
