At the beginning of her career, she excelled in education with a number of positions at Pearl Harbor Kai Elementary School, Montgomery Public Schools and East Central Independent School District. She also worked for the U.S. Department of Education at numerous times as a reader of grant proposals. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, Dr. Silfen authored such published works as the "Practical Guide to Teaching Adult Learning," "5-Minute Classroom Manager: Behavior Management in a Nutshell" and "Southern Expose."
An expert in her field, Dr. Silfen initially pursued an education at the City University of New York, earning a Bachelor of Arts. She continued her studies with a Master of Arts from the University of Hawaii and a Master of Science from Troy State University. Following these accomplishments, she obtained a Master of Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master's Degree from Cambridge University, England. Dr. Silfen concluded her academic efforts at the Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University, graduating with a Doctor of Education.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Silfen is affiliated with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. For her professional excellence, she has been presented with a plethora of grants from the United States Department of Education. Likewise, she has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who of American Women. Looking toward the future, Dr. Silfen intends to experience the continued success of her career.
